What is the time commitment?
WISE sessions take place twice a week for a little over two hours. There are both morning and afternoon options to accommodate the busy schedules of the mentors. While there is additional time allocated to training and reviewing the learning materials, the time commitment is very small.
What can I expect as a mentor?
Mentors are paired with either one or two mentees, and everyone is provided with a weekly curriculum. The curriculum allows for the mentee to meet specific targets that align with the STAAR exam (ex: cause and effect).
Who is our partner?
As of Fall 2022, the WISE program has partnered with P-Stem Academy. Mentors are placed with a selection of fourth grade students.
